DCN submission to the Comprehensive Spending Review
The DCN calls on government to deliver a multi-year financial settlement for districts, and urges government to prioritise a framework for a fair and sustainable future for districts, and building better lives and stronger economies as we live with, and recover from the pandemic.
We call for government to meet all additional costs incurred by districts during Covid-19, reiterate out concerns for leisure and culture, and ask for greater freedoms and flexibilities for councils to raise income locally. We also also for a focus on building homes for social rent, jobs and skills, improving health and wellbeing, and enabling districts to drive a green recovery.
